Navigating life's challenges and sculpting meaning from our experiences is a complex journey. As a licensed clinical Psychologist, I'm here to facilitate this process by offering evidence-based behavioral therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a Linehan Board Certified clinician. My therapeutic stance is nonjudgmental and compassionate which has helped me develop an expertise in treating a wide range of mental disorders with a specific focus on emotional dysregulation. At Chicago Behavior Therapy, I work with individuals and families, and provide professional consultation to clinicians and mental health institutions.
In the therapy room, I strive to understand individuals within the larger context of their lives rather than focusing on overly simplistic diagnoses or labels.
This stance allows me to practice psychotherapy and provide consultation in a genuine, relational, and flexible way while at the same time remaining firmly rooted in theory and providing treatments that have been shown to work. My clinical style can be described as direct, thoughtful, and often irreverent. I work from a place of curiosity and appreciation for the various identities, histories, and values that contribute to ourselves as individuals. I organize my life and clinical work around this appreciation and embrace opportunities to engage with individuals and communities who bring with them multiple identities and backgrounds. This value extends not only to differences in race, ethnicity, gender, religion, and sexual orientation but also to the differences understood in the ways we experience and interact with ourselves and the world around us. I strive to create a therapeutic space that feels validating, safe, and helpful. Understanding that mental health struggles are seldom "simple," I am committed to working with individuals and systems grappling with complex and often challenging problems.
