Alynn McCormick

MA, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, ATR, I/ECMH-C

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, and Certified Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist. My clinical approach integrates attachment theory, systems-informed thinking, and evidence-based treatment modalities to ensure therapy is responsive and effective. Developmentally guided and trauma-informed, I center individual strengths and differences while prioritizing attuned, collaborative relationships as the foundation for meaningful and lasting change. Clients can expect thoughtful, attentive care as we work together to find and follow a path forward.

I am trained in play therapy, creative arts therapy, and talk therapy, with the overarching goal that those I work with feel seen, heard, and genuinely valued. While I appreciate the opportunity to work with humans of all ages, I especially enjoy working with children under eight and their caregivers, college-aged young adults, and older adults (65 and older).

I received my graduate training in art therapy and counseling at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. To further my training, I completed a Masters-level certificate program in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health from Erikson Institute. My previous experience includes clinical work with children, adolescents, adults, and families in medical, school, community, youth development, outpatient, and higher education settings.
